Connecting Your Insurance
Linking your insurance carrier to Soffit is quick and can bump up your Soffit Score. Here's how it works.
Why connect your insurance?
Your insurance coverage makes up 10% of your Soffit Score. Connecting your carrier shows that your home is protected, and some carriers partner with Soffit to offer perks to well-maintained homes.
How to connect
From your property dashboard, tap the Insurance widget and follow these steps:
- Search for your carrier — Start typing your insurance company's name and select it from the list.
- Enter your policy number (optional but recommended) — This helps verify your coverage and earns you more score points.
- Upload your policy document (optional but recommended) — A photo or PDF of your declarations page rounds out your insurance profile.
Each step adds to your score, so even just selecting your carrier gets you started.
Score impact
Your insurance section is scored in three tiers:
- Carrier selected: +33 points
- Policy number added: +33 more points
- Policy document uploaded: +34 more points
Since insurance is 10% of your total Soffit Score, completing all three steps adds roughly 50 points to your overall score.
Switching carriers
If you change insurance providers, just update your carrier in the app. Your insurance score will reset to reflect whatever information you provide for the new carrier. Previous carrier info isn't retained.
Partner perks
If your carrier is a Soffit partner, you may see special perks or benefits on your dashboard after connecting. These vary by carrier and are based on your Soffit Score and checkup history.
