It's how Soffit builds (and refreshes) your home's profile — the systems, the rooms, the condition of everything.</p> <h3 id="whattoexpect">What to expect</h3> <p>The review has four phases. You can leave and come back anytime — progress is saved automatically.</p> <p><strong>Phase 1: Exterior photos</strong> — Walk around the outside of your home and take photos from several angles. Our AI will analyze these to identify things like your roof material, siding type, AC units, and more. We also pull public property data (year built, square footage, etc.) to fill in the basics.</p> <p><strong>Phase 2: Property review</strong> — We show you everything we found and let you confirm or correct it. Room counts, property type, materials — all editable. Once you confirm, we generate your full property profile.</p> <p><strong>Phase 3: Interior photos</strong> — Room by room, you'll photograph the interior of your home. Each room has a few required shots (and some optional ones). The AI identifies systems in your photos — water heater, furnace, electrical panel, etc.</p> <p><strong>Phase 4: Systems review</strong> — We show you every system we detected and let you add, remove, or adjust. Here's how to request account and data deletion.</p> <h2 id="howtorequestdeletion">How to request deletion</h2> <p>Send an email to <strong>team@soffit.ai</strong> with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your Soffit account. We'll verify your identity and process the request.</p> <h2 id="whatgetsdeleted">What gets deleted</h2> <p>When we delete your account, we remove all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Your user profile and login credentials</li> <li>All property claims</li> <li>Notification preferences and history</li> </ul> <h2 id="howlongdoesittake">How long does it take?</h2> <p>We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days. You'll receive a confirmation email once your account and data have been fully removed.</p> <h2 id="caniundoit">Can I undo it?</h2> <p>No. Account deletion is permanent. What is Soffit?

Soffit is an app that helps you stay on top of your home's most important systems — things like your HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. You'll take photos, complete seasonal checkups, and build up a Soffit Score that reflects the overall health of your home.

Why bother? A well-maintained home means fewer surprises, lower risk, and potential perks from your insurance provider.

How it works

Here's the gist:

Create your account — Just enter your email and we'll send you a one-time passcode. No passwords to remember.
Add your property — Search for your address and claim your home.
Complete your first annual review — Walk through your home taking photos of the exterior, rooms, and major systems. This is how we build your property profile.
Get your Soffit Score — Once your review is done, you'll get a score from 400 to 900 based on your home's condition.
Connect your insurance — Link your carrier to unlock potential perks and boost your score.
Stay on track with quarterly checkups — Four times a year, we'll walk you through seasonal maintenance tasks personalized to your home.

How to Add Your Property

Before Soffit can do anything useful, we need to know which home is yours. Here's how to add it.

Finding your address

After signing in, tap "Add Property" and start typing your address. We use Google's address database, so you should see your home pop up in the suggestions pretty quickly. Tap it to select it.

Claiming your home

Once you select your address, your claim will be set to "pending" until you verify ownership. Don't worry — this happens automatically as part of your first annual review (more on that in a sec).

Verifying ownership

During your first annual review, you'll take photos around your property. We use the GPS data embedded in those photos to confirm you're actually at the address you claimed. If the location in your photos matches your property address, you're all set.

A couple things to know:

Keep location services on when taking photos. If your phone's GPS is off, we won't be able to verify your location.
If photos don't match, we'll let you know and ask you to retake them. This can happen if GPS was inaccurate or you took photos from a neighboring property.
You have 3 months to complete your first annual review after claiming a property. If it's not done by then, the claim is removed and you'd need to add the property again.

Your Soffit Score Explained

Your Soffit Score is a number between 400 and 900 that reflects the overall health of your home. Think of it like a credit score, but for your house.

When do I get my score?

You won't see a score until you complete your first annual review. Before that, the app will show a prompt to get started. This is intentional — we want your first score to be based on real data about your home, not a guess.

What goes into the score?

Three things:

Home systems condition (60% of your score) — This is the big one. We look at the condition of your HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems using a mix of AI photo analysis, public property data, and what you confirm during your review. Newer and better-maintained systems score higher.

Maintenance compliance (30% of your score) — Are you keeping up with your checkups? Soffit schedules one annual review and four seasonal checkups per year. The more you complete, the higher this part of your score. Partial checkups don't count — you need to finish the whole thing.

Insurance coverage (10% of your score) — Connecting your insurance carrier, adding your policy number, and uploading your policy document each contribute to this section.

Connecting Your Insurance

Linking your insurance carrier to Soffit is quick and can bump up your Soffit Score. Here's how it works.

Why connect your insurance?

Your insurance coverage makes up 10% of your Soffit Score. Connecting your carrier shows that your home is protected, and some carriers partner with Soffit to offer perks to well-maintained homes.

How to connect

From your property dashboard, tap the Insurance widget and follow these steps:

Search for your carrier — Start typing your insurance company's name and select it from the list.
Enter your policy number (optional but recommended) — This helps verify your coverage and earns you more score points.
Upload your policy document (optional but recommended) — A photo or PDF of your declarations page rounds out your insurance profile.

Each step adds to your score, so even just selecting your carrier gets you started.

Score impact

Your insurance section is scored in three tiers:

Carrier selected: +33 points
Policy number added: +33 more points
Policy document uploaded: +34 more points

Since insurance is 10% of your total Soffit Score, completing all three steps adds roughly 50 points to your overall score.

Switching carriers

If you change insurance providers, just update your carrier in the app. Your insurance score will reset to reflect whatever information you provide for the new carrier. Previous carrier info isn't retained.
